Dalton Select Board inches toward an injunction against Berkshire Concrete after extreme dust readings. Town Manager Eric told the board the company, known as BCC, faces a $5,000 fine and an appealed $10,000 fine, and "can theoretically be fined up to $10,000 a day for repeated violations." Air monitors recorded readings of 5,000 to 10,000 during a March 31 storm, prompting board member Antonio "Tony" Pagliarulo to request executive-session language on seeking injunctive relief. The board also unanimously awarded a $14,000-a-year website contract to TownWeb Design LLC over Civic Plus, sworn in new patrolman Nicholas Feld, and voted to recommend the town meeting warrant, including a $238,000 shift from police department plumbing to town hall HVAC repairs.
Free cash stands just over $2 million.
